IELTS, OET, PTE and TOEFL — which one should you choose and what scores you need.

AHPRA accepts IELTS Academic, OET, PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT results that meet the Physiotherapy Board's English Language Skills Registration Standard.

A common threshold is IELTS Academic 7.0 in each band (or the equivalent) — but always confirm the current standard on the Board's website before booking.

If you completed your qualifying physiotherapy education entirely in English in an approved country, you may be exempt — check your eligibility early to avoid an unnecessary test.
